My husband and I continue on our “read a book together” quest and have Harry Potter to share with you.
In The Chamber of Secrets, Harry goes into his second year at Hogwarts in a flying car with Ron Weasley. Then students with muggle parentage start getting attacked, and the blame begins to fall on Harry because he speaks Parceltongue! Will Harry, Ron, and Hermione find out the truth? It will be hard with that new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, the famous Gilderoy Lockhart.
My husband enjoyed it way more than the movie. They get into so much more detail, like The Headless Hunt during Halloween for Nearly Headless Nick and how that scene gives you so much more information on Moaning Myrtle. It was also really great having Harry having more in depth experiences of reading Tom Riddle’s journal. Granted, it was reading the book versus watching the movie, but with The Chamber of Secrets you really got into Harry’s emotional and mental distress and the attempted isolation that Tom Riddle / Voldemort created to draw Harry out.
My husband and I are still a little caught up on how Harry, Ron, and Hermoine are described in the book versus the movies. They did do a good job with Having Kenneth Branagh play Gilderoy Lockhart.
This one took a way too long of a time to read, but we both enjoyed it whenever we could come back to it. The only negative about The Chamber of Secrets is that it ended.
I would recommend reading this, especially with October and Halloween coming up. If you would like to read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, you can find it here.
Thank you for continuing to follow my reviews.
