This was the first book that my husband and I read together; we have a ton of Shakespeare’s plays that we plan on reading together. It is really entertaining; one day we will do a Youtube video with one, or you should hear us sing Africa. Anyways…
Being non-educated in the ways of Shakespeare unless you count the grade school reading of Romeo and Juliet, we had no idea what was going on half the time. In the times that we did understand the nature of the dialogue we got a kick out of it.
I was very drawn to it from the beginning; there the sonnet beginning with “Oh, Mistress Mine…” that was translated into a song used in the film version of The Tempest done by Julie Taymor and I wanted to read that source material.
I would personally read it again so that I can learn from it. The story is dramatic with funny twists.
This did not turn out like a review like I thought.
If you are interested in trying out Shakespeare, you will be able to find it here.
