The Sun Also Rises

For a short book, I think The Sun Also Rises was a pretty solid read. Admittedly, I do not think I had read this with any comprehensive value, but took it at the face. I did not dive into it, looking for meaning and anything beyond the actual words themselves. The story itself is simple; a guy and a girl have romantic history and they continually go hot and cold no matter how many times he wants it to work. In the midst of it all, he tries to process the why’s for it not working, but she really just does not want to be a part of it anymore.

Since I feel like I did not really read it extensively the first time, I would really want to read it another time. I want to know that I got the most out of it instead of letting a renown book go to waste in my reading memory. I have another of Hemingway’s books that I plan on reading with the same intent. I think with short stories nowadays, I take advantage of the shortness to work on my speed in reading instead of continuing to sit back and enjoy the depths that a person can go with any book.

I know I kept this short, but I just want to give a solid answer while being honest that I did not try with the reading process with this book, which happens sometimes. Should I honestly read The Sun Also Rises again, I want to do a follow-up where I can give a more in depth and honest review, because this was not the fairest.

I would encourage others to read it. If you want to get a hold of a copy, you can find it here.

10/10 ??
