Fatal Fixer-Upper

My husband and I just finished this one last night as a part of our “read to each other” thing. I think he knows how to pick a good book.

I do not remember how we came across this one, but it was actually not that bad. It was funny, the language was great, and it was entertaining to read through. I think as we kept reading, it became a thing of whether Spencer could guess what Derek would say, which of course was correct every time. My husband is goofy and whatnot, so it was weird to read about him as a book character.

Both him and I agree that we would read this again. I think mysteries are our thing because when you read it with other people, they make it fun and you can make a competition out of it to see who can solve it first. It also brings out the discussion part of him, gets him talking about what he thought about it, and I can appreciate it.

Apparently, this is the first book of a series that Bentley has written with the same characters renovating houses throughout Waterfield. Which will lead me to wonder how there can be so much crime in a small town that involves house flipping, but whatever.

If ya’ll wanna check out this entertaining fixer-upper, you can start here.
